IXP Joining Policy
1. Introduction
This document defines the policy for participants who wish to connect to the Spider Net Ltd IXP. The purpose of the IXP is to provide a neutral, reliable, and high-performance peering platform that benefits all members.
2. Eligibility
- Be a legally registered company, ISP, content provider, or network operator.
- Operate their own Autonomous System Number (ASN).
- Maintain a publicly registered IPv4/IPv6 address space in a recognized Internet registry.
- Have the technical capability to establish and maintain BGP sessions.
3. Technical Requirements
- Connect to the IXP fabric via an approved port (1G, 10G, 40G, or 100G).
- Ensure equipment connected to the IXP meets technical standards defined by the IXP technical team.
- Use only assigned IP addresses from the IXP peering LAN.
- Maintain redundancy and routing security following best practices (IRR, RPKI, filtering).
4. Peering Policy
- Participants must establish BGP sessions with the IXP route servers unless they opt out.
- Free to establish bilateral/multilateral peering with other members.
- No transit or unauthorized third-party traffic allowed.
5. Administrative Requirements
- Complete and sign a Membership Agreement before activation.
- Provide up-to-date NOC contact information.
- Pay all fees (setup, recurring, and port fees if applicable) on time.
6. Usage Rules
- Only traffic destined for peering members may be exchanged.
- No network abuse, denial-of-service attacks, or illegal activity allowed.
- The IXP reserves the right to disconnect violators.
7. Termination of Membership
- Voluntary withdrawal (30 days written notice).
- Failure to comply with technical or administrative requirements.
- Non-payment of fees.
- Misuse of the IXP infrastructure.
8. Governance
- The IXP is neutral and independently operated.
- Policy updates will be communicated to members.
- Members may provide input into policy changes.
